FULL PROGRAM

Day 1: SANTA CRUZ- ZOO- CITY TOUR

Arrival in Santa Cruz and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, tour of the charming city of Santa Cruz. Visit the zoo that houses a wide variety of tropical species, the Ethnic-Folk Museum, the Main Square, the Cathedral Museum, the Santa Cruz Interpretation Center, the Arte-campo crafts exhibition, where you can appreciate the skill of local artists, and the main monuments of Santa Cruz. Overnight in local hotel.

Day 2: FORT SAMAIPATA- ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM- LAS CUEVAS AND EL CHORRO- SANTA CRUZ

I pick up passengers and transfer to Samaipata, where the Samaipata Fort is located, which in reality would not be a fort (it is known that way because it is on top of a hill) but rather a kind of pre-Columbian settlement that raised the Chané culture. The road to El Fuerte crosses an Andean mountainous area called Volcanoes and an ascent is made to appreciate this impressive and last Inca redoubt built for magical and religious strategic purposes. Visit to the Archaeological Museum. Moment of fun at the Las Cuevas and El Chorro waterfalls. Lunch and return to Santa Cruz. Overnight in local hotel.

Day 3- FLIGHT TO SUCRE- CITY TOUR

Transfer to the airport to fly to Sucre. Arrival in the city and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, walk through the city where you will have the opportunity to visit La Recoleta and the church of San Francisco, the House of Liberty where Simón Bolívar signed the Bolivian Independence Act, the second oldest university on the continent called San Francisco Xavier and the colorful local markets, a sample of the biodiversity and crafts of the area, we will have the opportunity to dine in one of the cities of exquisite gastronomy in Bolivia. Overnight in local hotel.

Day 4- POTOSI CITY - CITY TOUR

Early in the morning, you will depart by private transport to Potosí (3 hours). You will visit the Casa de la Moneda and take a walking tour of the city to see the facades of the main churches, convents and local markets. You will enjoy a typical lunch, followed by a visit to Cerro Rico and the mines. After the visit to the mines, you will return to the hotel.
Included: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 5- POTOSI CITY - TRANSFER TO UYUNI

In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel in Potosí, we pick you up in private transportation and begin the trip by land to Uyuni. Dinner and overnight in a salt hotel.

DAY 6: UYUNI SALT FLAT - COQUESA - LA PAZ

Early in the morning we will have free time to buy some souvenirs in the village before the tour begins.

On the tour we will first visit the Train Cemetery and the town of Colchani where you can learn more about the mining past of Uyuni and its present of artisanal salt production, then we will enter the incredible Salar de Uyuni and arrive at the "Hotel de Sal-Museum" , the first of its kind that today functions solely as a museum. On the way we will be able to see fantastic optical illusions, capable of seeing in the rainy season (December-March), and we will also visit the "Ojos de Agua", small salt eruptions that help us explain the development of this huge salt lake.

At noon you arrive at the "Incahuasi Island" in the middle of the Salar; there are extraordinary calcareous rocks, large cactus populations, local fauna and spectacular 360 degree panoramic views of the Salar from the summit.

We will continue our tour towards the northern part of the salt flat, there we will visit a local museum, where we can see pre-Columbian mummies and then we will arrive at the viewpoint of the Salar at the foot of the Thunupa volcano. At the end of the afternoon, return to Uyuni.


Day 7 - FLIGHT TO LA PAZ

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to La Paz. Arrival at the hotel and visit to the city and its markets and colonial zone. Overnight in local hotel.

DAY 8. LA PAZ - TIWANAKU - LA PAZ

Land trip to the Tiwanaku archaeological site. The Tiwana Ku ceremonial center is located in a puna near Lake Titicaca, 71 km west of the city of La Paz. The lost empire of the same name showed its splendor in the year 600 BC and was considered the most important civilization of the Pre-Columbian Period. Experts in this field believe that Tiwanacu later inspired the Inca Empire in architectural aspects. The religious center shows imposing megalithic constructions such as: the Puerta del Sol, the Puerta de La Luna and several monoliths with different figures carved on the body and head. Likewise, the Tiwanacotas had a close relationship with nature, which they considered the home of sacred beings. Excavations show that animals such as llamas, felines, and condors had privileged places, followed by figures of other animals such as dogs, ducks, small birds, deer, fish, and others.
